OGX Kukui Anti-Frizz Hydrating Oil

So hopefully you already read my Organix OGX Hydrate & Defrizz Kukui Oil Conditioner & Shampoo review, where I totally gushed over the products.

As for the oil itself I found that it did work well and helped with frizzing. However, since it’s in a spray bottle I feel like I’m using WAY too much. My hair is passed my shoulders and there’s a lot of it. Spray bottle products are hard to get everywhere. I much rather use thicker oils that I can put in my hands then run through my hair.

I resulted to spray a ton of it in my hand then putting it in my hair that way. The oil is super thin, basically like water so I understand why it has to be in a spray bottle.

I suggest this for people with thinner or shorter hair.

I’ve been trying OGX products for awhile now. I was pretty skeptical because of how ridiculously cheap it is, but the Kukui Oil line has made me fall in love!

Moisture: omg I freaked out guys! This was perfect!! My curls were left frizz free and super soft!

Detangles: With how much moisture you get from this your hair will naturally detangle, it’s just great. This is true for both the conditioner and shampoo!

Definition: Once again, from how moisturizing it is your curls are defined. I seriously cannot get over how soft my hair was

Softness:  SOFT SOFT SOFT..just incase you haven’t gotten the hint

MATRIX Total Results Curl Please Super Defrizzer Curl Defining Gel

Even though I was a fan of MATRIX Total Results Curl Please Contouring Lotion Curl Control Leave-In, I cannot say the same for this product. However, the ratings on most websites are over 3 stars..how? I do not know..

Hold / Definition: For a complete gel product I have higher standards for hold and definition that this one just didn’t reach. My hair wasn’t completely unruly once I stepped into this humid season that we call summer, but it definitely wasn’t tamed either.

Crunch: Gels don’t add mositure, but

MATRIX Total Results Curl Please Contouring Lotion Curl Control Leave-In

WARNING: NOT A LEAVE IN CONDTIONER! The name had me totally confused and I put this in right after the shower as my first product. Was not a happy camper when I realized it was really a gel…but anyways! This product is pretty unique. It’s a gel cream mix, but not sticky at all while maintaining a thick consistency.

Moisture: This won’t dry out your hair but i would say it helps with mositure either. I’ve used this along with moisturizing creams since my hair is dry and needs that extra mositure.

Hold/Definition: Good! Your curls won’t

Shea Moisture Curl Style Milk, Coconut & Hibiscus

Slip: As long as your hair is wet you will experience just the right amount of slip. This is considered a milk so it’s really creamy and slides through your curls nicely. 

Moisture: Well the brand is Shea Moisture so I’m pretty sure this category has a pretty obvious answer. Just I case you are having an off day, yes this mixture will give you plenty of moisture.

Hold: The defrizz ingredients of this products is what creates hold. You will get definition simply because your hair is mositurized, smooth, and defrizzed. That means you will have volume! The natural kind not the it’s humid rainy day kind. So if you like big luscious curls this is for you!

Crunch: Shea Moisture doesn’t know crunch!

Every Strand Shea And Coconut Oil Deep Hair Masque

I received this as a sample awhile back along with the Every Strand Curling Creme which you can read my review for that here.

Build-up: Most masques are pretty thick, but this one washes out real easy. So, no need to worry about build up!

Slip: This condition masque is pretty thin so you can get it through your hair family easy.

Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie

If you have used Shea Mositure before you already know how reliable this brand is. For those of you who don’t know, this all natural brand has many different lines to cover all types of curly needs. The Curl Enhancing Smoothie is a thicker mixture compared to its cousin, Curl Enhancing Milk (both pink labels). The Smoothie is recommended to use on damp hair for braids and twist out styles. I have used it for both braids and hair down styles and found it great for both!
Slip: You will not struggle to get this through your curls, but due to its thickness you have to make sure you really separate your curls to get equal coverage.
Moisture: For those dry curlies, this is a great product for you. If your hair isn’t so dry you can even use it in place of a leave in on those days you are short on time.

Hold: Definition game is pretty strong here however hold not too much. Humidity may be your arch nemesis if you don’t pair this up with a gel. I have used it with both a gel and without for my hair down and although it does not look bad without gel, you will find you are more

Curls Unleashed (ORS) No Boundaries Leave-in Conditioner

This bubble gum scented (it says shea butter and mango, but smells like bubble gum to me. You know the hard kind that comes in yellow and blue wrapper? Basically that) leave in is a thin mixture. It’s peach colored so you are able to see if you thoroughly applied it to your curls.

Slip: This a thin leave in so it goes through your hair easily. I wouldn’t consider it slippery though, it’s like a diluted cream. It comes out of the bottle fast!

Moisture: So this if you have super dry hair this may not be for you. However, for those who don’t find moisture to be to big a of deal this could be what you’ve been looking for! Your hair will absorb it easily since it is not heavy (which is also great if you are going to be using more product/stylers).

Build-up: Once again…it’s thin! No build up.

​Every Strand Simply Curls Coco Oil/Shea Curl Creme

I received this cream sample a few months back and finally decided to test it out. Its formulated in Miami…just a little fun fact for you. This conditioning cream will give you the softness and definition you need. However, I suggest pairing jt with a gel to make sure your curls last.

Slip: It went through my curls very well. The creaminess of the mixture is just the right density for us curlies. Thick enough to not evaporate right away, but thin enough to get through our curls.

Moisture: The mositure factor by this cream will leave your hair very soft!

Devacurl Ultra Defining Gel

This review represents both the DevaCurl Ultra Definining Gel and the DevaCurl Arc AnGel, which is for chemically treated hair. I have used both products and feel like they are basically identical in preformance. I personally think this product is best used as finishing product for those who need either just a little more gel in their routine or for those who usually use cream based products to style, but need that bit of gel just for a little extra hold. If you have loose curls or wavy hair this product may just be what you are looking for!

Slip: There is a pretty good Slick factor here. The formula is fairly thin and not very sticky compared to most gels. You should be able to get it through your curls fairly easy!

Moisture: Not really a holy grail for curlies with dry hair. As I said,
